Great SEO Tips Google Loves
by Judith Wentzel, CTACC, EFT-ADV
I recently came across this great SEO tip on how your copyrighting (the legal protection of your content) date can impact your search engine optimization. Many of you may not know that you can increase your SEO immediately by typing in just 1 specific character.
Here’s one of the best SEO tips I found which was submitted by Brad Slavin of www.Webheat.com.
Google cares about your copyright date –and so should you.
Google has made it explicitly clear that they take the frequency of updates to your website and the relevancy of your content into account when awarding you organic SEO positions. A very easy way to indicate to Google that your website is still active is to update the Copyright © date in the footer of your website.
Even if you don’t care about Google Rankings – you should care about your © date when new visitors come to your site to evaluate your business and the footer still says © 2010, 2009 or heaven forbid 2008!
By leaving an old date you are essentially telling these visitors that you don’t maintain the information on your site and that your content may be outdated.
Perhaps a few years ago ignoring your Copyright date was OK, but times have changed and you need to keep up with the competition, by staying fresh in Google and make sure that your site visitors are not presented with old information.
Stay fresh, and improve your image on the Internet and keep the Google love flowing with one simple change.

I invite you to implement this one simple but really important tip today. Contact your Webmaster or hosting company and ask them to update the copyright year for you. It really can make a world of difference in your rankings and website traffic.
